FINAL FAREWELL SPEECH Miss Lybrook Princess Tanisha
Yá'át'ééh, family, friends, teachers, students, community members, and everyone gathered here tonight.
As I take my final walk tonight, my heart is full of joy and a little bit of sadness. Serving as your Miss Lybrook Princess this past year has truly been a dream come true.
This was my very first year ever being crowned as a school princess. When I first received my crown, I didn't know just how many memories I would make while wearing it or how much this experience would teach me.
When I first started this journey, there were things that were new to me and things I had to learn along the way. Being royalty helped me become more confident in myself, meet new people, and understand what it means to represent something bigger than just yourself.
This crown did not just sit on my head. It taught me the true meaning of kindness, service, respect, and representing my community with pride. I learned that when you wear a crown and sash, people are watching how you carry yourself, how you treat others, and how you represent the community you come from. That is something I will continue to remember even after my reign is over.
From riding in parades to meeting so many wonderful people and making new friends in our community and surrounding communities, I have made memories that I will always treasure. Every school visit, every event, every smile, every wave during a parade, and every shared laugh became a special part of my year.
I am especially thankful to the surrounding communities who invited me to their special events and welcomed me as visiting royalty. Whether I was at a parade, a school event, a community gathering, speaking on the radio, or meeting other royalty, I was always proud to put on my crown and sash and say that I represented Lybrook.
I would like to give a special thank you to our previous principal, Mr. Jaquez, and to Mr. Moffett for their support throughout my year. I also want to thank all of the faculty and staff members who supported me and donated whenever they were able to help me attend events and continue representing our school. Your support meant so much to me and helped make this journey possible.
I would also like to thank KNDN Radio for always welcoming me and inviting me to speak on the radio. Being able to represent Lybrook beyond our school and speak for our community is something I will always remember.
Thank you to our amazing committee and sponsors for helping make this entire journey possible. Your support gave me opportunities to travel, attend events, represent our community, and make memories that I will carry with me for many years.
Most importantly, I want to thank my family, especially my mother, for your endless love, patience, encouragement, and all those rides to every single event. Thank you for helping me get ready, making sure I was where I needed to be, supporting me when I was nervous, and always being there for me. I know I could not have done all of this by myself.
To my sister princesses, thank you for being there for me along the way. Thank you for the friendship, the laughs, the memories, and for sharing this experience with me. Being royalty gave me the chance to meet other young ladies who understand what it means to carry a crown and represent their communities, and those friendships are something I will always appreciate.
I also want to thank everyone who encouraged me throughout my year. Sometimes a few kind words, someone telling you that you are doing a good job, or simply seeing a familiar face supporting you can mean more than people realize. Every person who cheered for me, waved to me during a parade, took a picture with me, or welcomed me at an event became a small part of this journey too.
As my reign comes to an end, I want the next Miss Lybrook Princess to know that this crown is more than something beautiful you wear. When you put it on, you are representing your school, your community, your family, and the people who believe in you.
Wear it proudly, but also wear it with kindness and respect. Attend the events, wave at the parades, introduce yourself to people, make new friends, and don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.
There may be moments when you feel nervous or unsure of yourself, especially when something is new. I felt that way too. But with every event you attend and every new experience you have, you will become more comfortable and confident.
Always remember why you were chosen. Remember the people standing behind you, and most importantly, always remember where you come from.
Enjoy every moment of your reign because the year really does go by faster than you think. Take pictures, make memories, meet people, laugh, smile, and enjoy the opportunity you have been given to represent Lybrook.
As I pass on my crown, someone new will begin the journey that I was blessed to experience for the very first time. I hope you make your own memories, represent Lybrook proudly, and one day look back at your year with the same happiness and gratitude that I have tonight.
Although I may be passing on my crown, I will always be thankful that I was given the opportunity to serve as Miss Lybrook Princess. This experience will always be a part of my story, and I am proud that Lybrook was the place where my very first journey as royalty began.
Thank you to everyone who supported me, encouraged me, invited me, helped me, and welcomed me throughout my reign.
As I take my final walk as Miss Lybrook Princess, I leave with a grateful heart, beautiful memories, new friendships, and an experience I will never forget.
