Recently, local students participated in an interactive initiative with Care Flight 5 personnel and the Cuba and Picuris Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to enhance their career pathways in health and emergency services. This landing zone training complemented their ongoing first aid and CPR training—essential skills for aspiring health professionals and emergency services members, especially in a rural community. The career exploration component is also integrated into the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, as well as HOSA-Future Health Professionals, a career and technical student organization, further enriching students' exposure to health and emergency services-related careers.
