Virtual School Day for Gallina Campus

September 19, 2021

Jemez Mountain Public Schools Families,

Jemez Mountain Public Schools Administration and Health Services are working with the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) and New Mexico’s Department of Health (NMDOH) because a staff member at our facility or a child who attends our school has tested positive for COVID-19. This message is to inform you about the next steps necessary to protect your child and our community from COVID-19. Per guidance from both NMPED and NMDOH, we are required to investigate to see who had “close contact” with the staff member or student who tested positive for COVID-19. If your student was in “close contact” a member from NMDOH will be contacting you.

As a safety precaution, we will have students attend classes virtually on Monday, September 20th to allow for NMDOH to make the necessary contacts.  Our school custodians and health services continue to clean and sanitize daily.  All high touch surfaces are wiped and sprayed twice a day and the electromagnetic sprayer is used every Thursday to allow deeper penetration over the weekend.

Classes will resume in person on Tuesday, September 21st.

Thank you,
JMSD Administration
