Counselor’s Summer Updates

ACT Exam

ACT- Saturday, July 16, 2022

Register at myACT.org     Please email Mr. Mamich if you have any questions or would like a fee waiver code that covers the cost of the test.  Make sure you register by June 17th to save a spot at the test site.   When you register, it will give you options on where you can test.

This exam and the SAT exam let you know where you stand academically.  It’s good to take both or either  to see where you stack up against other students across the nation who are considering going to college.  It is also important to take because many scholarships ask for SAT/ACT scores.

Volunteer Opportunities

All High Schoolers  VOLUNTEER SOMEWHERE THIS SUMMER!  It can be a life changer by helping others and it helps when you apply for scholarships.  Most of them ask if you have spent some time volunteering.  If you need ideas, send me an email over the summer and I will email you back with ideas.   Volunteer with cleanup at our campus, do projects in your community, for your church, the elderly, food banks, collect money for fire victims, or whatever else you come up with.  Get together with your friends or do it yourself and devise a volunteer project!   Have your parents and teachers help you with your projects.

Northern New Mexico EL RITO Campus technical training to become an electrician or plumbing/pipefitting specialist

Interested in becoming an electrician or plumbing/pipefitting specialist?  Northern New Mexico College has training for high school students at their El Rito Campus.  They also have transportation available to the classes from our school.  Please email Mr. Mamich if you are interested.  Space is limited.   The sooner you get registered for next fall’s classes, the better.

Your school will make every effort to make it work with your high school schedule.
