WRACHA Project
Through funding provided by the NM Public Education Department’s (NMPED) Rural Education Division, via a grant application developed by Superintendent, Adan Delgado, students were engaged in a tremendous opportunity to work with professional film producers to capture and develop digital audio and video content of District residents, especially elderly residents with historical recollections.
The project, the Western Rio Arriba County Historical Archive (WRACHA) project, was facilitated by Mr. Frank Chacon, Mr. Dan Delgado, and Mrs. Crystal Gallegos. During the project students were able to collect video interviews with many District residents. This video footage will now be archived at the District and will be available for many generations to come. Collaborating on the project was Silver Bullet Productions, a Santa Fe-based professional film production company. (*New Mexico has been assigned the affectionate name of Tamalewood by some film industry leaders.)
